Richard Parfitt - Born 12th October 1948 , Woking , Surrey  England

Rick joined the band after meeting Quo at the Butlins Holiday Camp . Rick was playing in a trio called "The Highlights" and was invited to join QUO in 1967 .  The King of the chunka-chunka rhythm guitar, nobody plays chords like Rick Parfitt . Rick is also a fan of the Rock and Roll era of the 50s amd 60s and he prefers the more up tempo numbers in the live set .  He recovered quickly from a quadruple heart bypass operation in 1997 to tour again after only a few months off . Rick is also a very accomplished songwriter penning such classics as Rain by himself and jointly , Backwater (with Lancaster) , Big Fat Mama (with Rossi ), 4500 Times (with Rossi)  and Softer Ride (with Lancaster) , to name but a few . Rick recently penned the last single of the new album "Little White Lies"
